There are few steps to building your first free web games site. You already have your concept which will be web games. Next you will need to download a site builder that you will use to make your site. If you are new to site building, you should play around a bit and get a handle on the features of the site builder. Purchasing a domain name will be your next step. Now it is time to build your site. After your site is built you will publish it to the web and it will be able to be accessed by the public. The first step to building your own web games site is to download a site builder. You have a couple options here, you can download a free one or you can pay a premium price for a site builder such as Adobe Dreamweaver. This choice will depend on how much time you are willing to put in and how professional you want your site to look. The free site builders can be mastered with little effort but the features of these builders does not compare to the features in a higher end site builder. Remember the look of your site will reflect the site builder that you choose to use. I chose to do the 30 day free trial of Adobe Dreamweaver. This way you can build your web games site and start making income from your advertisements before you have to pay for a quality site builder. Purchasing a Domain Name
There are several options when purchasing a domain name. For a web games site you will only need the basic package. This will cost around $5 a month. The basic packages will give you around 10 GB/transfer per month, 500 meg storage, and 50 Email accounts. This will be sufficient for your needs.
If you are looking to purchase the domain name for more than one year then most domain hosting companies will give you a deal and you will save money. Building Your Web Games Site
You will need to find a suittable template for your web games website that you are happy with. Design your site so that it is geared towards your target market. After you have your template imported you are ready to build. There are several categories of web games such as action games, adventure games, puzzle games, sports games, arcade games etc. I would suggest using about 7 or 8 categories including top 10 games, and all games. To embed games into your site you will need to find a site that will give you rights to copy the html code from their site. When you embed a game into your site other sites benefit from the advertising that they get, so most are willing to let you use their games. Publishing Your Site
Publishing your web games site is usually easy and all depends on the site builder that you initially chose. You will usually just need to click a publish button and chose the ip that your domain host will have already sent you. Advertising on Your Web Games Site
To put advertisements on your web site you will need to sign up for Google Adsense. This is a fairly painless process and shouldn't take very long. You will input your website url and then submit an application to have Google advertisements on your site. They will get back to you promptly and let you know if they have accepted your application. If your site is unique it will usually be accepted. After they accept your site they will send you html code that you will input onto your main template. This will apply the advertisements to all of your pages and you are now ready to make money. Remember don't put too many advertisements on your pages as this could discourage people from returning.
